  • Sprocket Rockets awarded their certificates

    The 2nd "Sprocket Rocket" group received their certificates having been taught FUNdamental cycling skills by Cycling Ireland's qualified Instructors, Mrs Rogers & Miss Gillespie. The programme focuses on 4 skills; Cornering, Pedalling, Braking and Balance. Well done everyone.

    Cancer Focus

    On Thursday 28th March Cancer Focus visited our school as part of our Eco-Schools initiative. They talked to all the pupils about how to make healthy lifestyle choices. The pupils learned that some food packaging have traffic lights to show if the food is a healthy or unhealthy choice.

     

    GET GO CLUB

    The "Get Go" After-school Club meets weekly to complete environmental challenges in the school grounds. So far, they have made bird feeders & built "bug hotels" where mini-beasts can shelter from predators or bad weather. This week's challenge is to create "Welly boot gardens".

  • Our "Young Enterprise" team visits Omagh

    The school's Young Enterprise team visited Main Street, Omagh to sell their goods. Fionn Begley, Dara Haughey, Katie-Rose McCartan, Clara-Rose Marley, Cara Donaghy and Ronan Ward were an impressive sales team.
  • "Paws B" Mindfulness project is a great success in St Colmcille's, McClintock & Roscavey

    Special thanks to Janine McElduff, our Aware "Paws B" Mindfulness coach with a group of children who are clearly enjoying the programme. Also in the picture is Carmel Rooney form the Family Wellness Project which is funding "Paws B" as part of our Shared Education activities.
  • Van Gogh's Starry Night recreated throughout the school

    Check out some of our children's art work in the Children's Gallery. Children throughout the school used different media to recreate Van Gogh's famous Starry Night which was painted in June 1889.
  • Science Fest on Thursday 14th February

    As this week is NI Science Week, the World Around Us team; Mrs Rogers, Miss Owens, Mr Donnelly & Mrs McKee has organised a SCIENCE FEST. Each class will have an opportunity to take part in a range of experiments. Children in Rang 5-7 will assist other classes throughout the day. We will be joined by a member of the @SentinusNI team. Following on from the successes of last year's Science Fest, we're confident that we're going to have a great day!
  • Conn Keyes and his brilliant Chinese New Year Poster

    Congratulations to Conn Keyes, P4 who won 2nd prize in the CIUU 2019 Year of the Pig Poster Competition. There was a huge number of entrants – a total of 1894 entries in the KS1 competition so to win 2nd prize is an amazing result

     bearing in mind the volume of entries!

     

    Conn and his family were invited to a presentation Gala night in the SWC in Dungannon. He is also invited to CIUU Chinese New Year event on 13 February 2019 in Waterfront Hall, Belfast where they will be presented on stage with their entry in full A1 poster size together with his prize and a prize for the school.

     

    We would also like to express our thanks to your Mandarin Chinese tutor, Kong who supported our pupils with the competition.

  • St Colmcille's win first prize in the Credit Union Quiz

    Congratulations to all the children who competed in the Credit Union quiz. Our Under 11 team (Anna, Conor, Clara-Rose & Grainne won the shield again and compete in the chapter final in Kelly's Inn. Our Under 13 team(Brendan, Cara, Grace & Ciaran) were runners-up by just one point. We wish the children the very best of luck in the Chapter final.
  • Tyrone Champions: Cumann na mBunscoil Quiz

    Congratulations to our Cumann na mBunscoil quiz team: Ciaran, Grace, Peter-Paul and Ryan, (pictured with Mr Gormley) which was the best team in Tyrone with 53 /60 points & will represent Tyrone in the Ulster final on Thurs 14th March in the Hilgrove Hotel, Monaghan.

     

    We'd also like to congratulate our neighbouring parish school: St Teresa's PS Loughmacrory which came second in Tyrone with (52/60 points) and will also compete in the Ulster Final.
