Dear Parents/Guardians
Yesterday, we had an unfortunate incident in the boiler room. Paraffin escaped via the overflow pipe into the ceiling in the caretaker's store. We are awaiting an assessment from Environmental Health, but the store will be gutted and the ceilings taken down.
There is a smell of fumes throughout the school but particularly in the corridor where Mrs Owens, Miss Gillespie and Miss McElduff's classes are. We have relocated these classes to the computer room, after-school club and Mrs Hackett's classroom as they are on a trip today.
I'm conscious of potential issues for children with asthma and we will alert you if your child reports any concerns.
Yours sincerely
Mr P Cush
Principal
