We had a wonderful couple of day last week when grandparents visited the school.
On Wednesday, we had two sessions at 9.45am and 10.15am when grandchildren in Foundation Stage followed by Key Stage 1 presented cards and read with their grandparents. The children were so excited
as can be seen in the photographs below.
Then on Thursday 1st February, we invited the grandparents of Key Stage 2 children to the school. Again the assembly was packed to capacity. Mr Treanor's class presented a short assembly and then everyone made St Brigid's crosses. Images are available on our facebook site, link below.

Today the children attended Mass and then took part in a special assembly on the theme "Catholic Schools' Week - Communities of Service!" led by the Minnie Vinnies.
All classes completed artwork on the theme which is displayed in the assembly hall.
A special thanks to Mrs McKee, our RE coordinator for organizing this week's activities.
The first of the talks in the Learn | Create | Connect series is scheduled for Friday 26th January at 7.30pm.
The focus is on drugs and alcohol.
This talk will be upstairs in The Patrician and so will have limited seating.
Dear Parents/Guardians
STRIKE ACTION: THURSDAY 18th January
Members of the five teaching unions (INTO, NAHT, NASUWT, NEU and UTU) and four non-teaching unions (GMB, NIPSA, Unison and UNITE the Union) are being called to take part in strike action on Thursday 18th January 2024 in relation to a trade dispute linked to the Pay and Grading Review.
While the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, and all the political parties, have agreed that Public Sector workers should receive a cost-of-living uplift, to date no pay offer has been made.
Having completed a Risk Assessment, we have determined that the school will be closed on Thursday 18th January 2024:
Clearly, this is a difficult situation, which will cause disruption. I ask you, however, to be understanding. Strike action is very unusual and taking the step of strike action is not something that any member of the school staff undertakes lightly. Those on strike will have thought long and hard about their decision and will also lose pay for the period that they are on strike.
The staff in our school are invaluable to the learning, development and safeguarding of your children and I, along with the Board of Governors, feel strongly that they should be paid fairly for the essential and very challenging jobs that they do.
Yours sincerely
Mr Peter Cush
Principal

Congratulations to Cillian Slane who met one of his heros; David Williams, comedian, actor, writer and television personality. Cillian recently got a certificate for reading the most words in his class and he says it’s thanks to David Walliams - he loves his books! Well done Cillian!
