Congratulations to all the girls who competed in the Showjumping event in Ecclesville Arena, Fintona on Thursday 10th April which was arranged by St Oliver Plunkett PS, Beragh.
We are delighted with the girls' performance as this was the largest number of show jumpers to ever represent the school.
Leila Rose McCabe and Lucy Broderick came second in the "60 cm" team event and Cora Hughes, Isla McAtee, Aslinn McCrory, Maria Grogan, Laura Taggart and Niamh Hughes also did very well.

Dear parents
Please see information from Richard Pengelly,
Chief Executive – Education Authority
I am writing to inform you that, due to anticipated severe weather conditions, all schools in Northern Ireland are required to close tomorrow, Friday 24 January 2025.
The Met Office has issued a red alert, which covers all of Northern Ireland, and will apply from 7am on Friday until 2pm. This warns of "very dangerous conditions" and "widespread disruption".
While I appreciate that this decision will impact on the work of schools, the more important issue is that we take action to avoid any potential risk to the safety of our children and young people and our colleagues across the sector.
Schools should put plans in place today for remote learning so that pupils can study at home.
I would ask that you communicate this decision to parents as soon as practicably possible through your school channels.
Your support is appreciated.
Regards,
Richard Pengelly

Catholic Schools week will take place in January 2025 on the theme of “alive in Christ”
“Christ is alive! He is our hope, and in a wonderful way he brings youth to our world, and everything he touches becomes young, new, full of life. The very first words, then, that I would like to say to every young Christian are these: Christ is alive and he wants you to be alive!” – Pope Francis,
Reflecting on the theme, Catholic schools will explore what it means to be fully alive as a human being – living life to the full in Christ.
We will hold a special Mass on Tuesday 21st January at 9.30am followed by a school Assembly at 10.30am and our Grandparents’ Days on Wed. 29th and Thursday 30th January.
Dear parents,
Thank you for participating in the Eco Council’s "Energy Saving Week" which took place from Monday 6th to Friday 10th January. We send the survey out to 250 families representing the 415 children in the school.
It was quite simple, we asked your child/children to complete the five energy saving activities and these everyday tasks can help reduce your home energy bills, while also educating your child about saving money and energy at home. We are delighted with the response form pupils and their families.
Please see the collated results of our survey.
Day 1 - "I reduced my shower time by one minute!" - 365 pupils
Day 2 - "I turned the tap off when brushing my teeth!" 415 pupils
Day 3 - "I asked an adult to unplug any electrical items we were not using!" 381 pupils
Day 4 - "I asked ... to turn down the thermostat by 1 degree for 5 days!" 349 pupils
Day 5 "We turned the lights off when we left the room!" 398 pupils
Kind regards
St Colmcille's PS - ECO Council
